Samsung may be modestly raising the price of its next Galaxy Watch 5, according to Roland Quandt of WinFuture. Based on the rates in Europe, it appears that Samsung is raising the cost of its base model by about 30 Euros.

According to Quandt, the base model Galaxy Watch 5 will cost roughly 300 Euros in its 40mm size, and 350 Euros in its 44mm size. The LTE models, at 350 and 400 respectively, will add 50 Euro to those costs.

Samsung, at least in Germany, began selling the Galaxy Watch 4 series for 269 Euro for the 40mm size and 299 Euro for the 44mm variant. The Watch 4 starts at $249 and goes up to $299 for the 44mm version in the United States, so that pricing translates very roughly. Expecting a $30–$50 price increase for the new models seems logical.

There will not be a Galaxy Watch 5 Classic, as has been stated and displayed in one of Samsung’s applications. However, Samsung has the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro in its portfolio in its place, and it seems like it will be an expensive alternative.

According to Quandt, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will cost between 490 and 540 euros for the Bluetooth-only device and LTE, respectively.
